LIVE MODE
Multi-track circular step sequencer with 84 synthesized sounds.
- Steps (circles) — click to toggle on/off, scroll to change pitch, right-click to shift note up
- Active steps — show note name (C, D#, etc.), slightly larger; currently playing step pulses green
- Add Track — creates a new track, opens sound picker automatically
- Sound Picker (♪) — choose sample from library or use built-in synth
- Engine (▾) — expand per-track synth controls (oscillators, filter, envelope)
- Volume slider — per-track volume control on toolbar
- Octave +/− — shift track pitch up/down one octave
- Link dots — connect tracks for synchronized harmonic layering
- Mute (M) — silence a track without removing it
- Presets — 13 ready-made patterns: Acid, UFO, Tribal, Glitch, Ambient, Psy-Trance, Darkwave, Gamelan, Drone, Techno, Lo-Fi, DnB, IDM
- Snapshot (◈) — save current state for use in Track Builder
VISUAL SURFACE (AUDIO-REACTIVE)
Interactive visualization panel — every mouse interaction changes the live sound in real-time.
- Click — plays a tone at the click position (X = pitch, Y = brightness). Creates visual ripple
- Drag — applies a live filter sweep to all audio output. X = filter cutoff frequency, Y = resonance + LFO modulation. Also adjusts selected track's filter params
- Shift + Drag — adjust attack (X) and release (Y) envelope of selected track
- Mouse wheel — change oscillator mix and distortion amount
- FX interaction — when FX are enabled, dragging also modulates delay time and feedback in real-time
- Release — releasing the mouse smoothly resets all live effects back to normal
- Modes — toggle between Lissajous, Spectrum, and Scope views (〰 button)
KEYBOARD
Piano keyboard in the right panel — play notes in real-time.
- Mouse / touch — click keys to play
- Computer keys — A-L row maps to notes C3–E4
- Sound selector — choose any sound from the library to play on the keyboard
- Space — start/stop transport
HANDS MODE
Camera-based hand tracking — play music with gestures.
- Height — base pitch (low = low, high = high)
- Fingertips — 5 notes in pentatonic circle; extend finger to play
- Pinch (thumb+index) — filter frequency
- Fist — mute
- Two hands distance — delay + reverb depth
TRACK BUILDER
Arrange snapshots on a timeline to build full compositions.
- Snapshots — drag from the list onto the timeline, or click "+ TIMELINE"
- Resize — drag the ⋮ handle on a slot to change bar count
- Sync mode — unify all snapshots to the same tempo for coherent playback
- Play — plays the full composition with animated playhead
- Export — save composition as JSON or render to WAV/MP3
- Import — load a previously exported JSON composition
